About A Different Telling

Another way
into the story.

Classic novels reimagined as contemporary audio drama.

The book is the beginning.

A Different Telling brings classic novels into the present as serial audio drama. Each season adapts a different book, with characters and situations reworked for a contemporary setting.

You don't need to have read the original. The first episode is your way in, and the story unfolds from there.

Our first season is The Woman in White, inspired by Wilkie Collins's novel. It begins with an agency nurse, a woman outside a private clinic and a claim that should be impossible. Across fifteen episodes, a chance encounter becomes a mystery with a complete ending.

How the stories are made.

The Woman in White is produced by John Costabile using AI-assisted adaptation and production. Its character voices, music and sound effects are generated using ElevenLabs.

Voice names listed in episode credits identify the voice-library selections used in production. They are not credits for human actors performing the episode.

Each released episode will include its own credits, content notes and a transcript checked against the recording.
